Underwriter Assistant/Data Analyst – Fairview Park, OH

SPEAR Specialty’s Excess Casualty is seeking a motivated candidate to work in growing a diverse suite of Excess Casualty Products. They will be responsible for supporting and managing workflows between Underwriting and Operations. The successful candidate will handle the life cycle of an account, including new business, renewals, and servicing of business. Advanced excel knowledge and skills are required for this role. This is a hybrid position in Fairview Park, OH.

Commercial Underwriter – Remote

The Commercial Underwriter is responsible for underwriting, profitability, growth, and retention of new and renewal business that is consistent with underwriting strategies for assigned program. The underwriter is accountable for managing a high-volume environment. In the role, they may act as a technical referral resource for less experienced Associate Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants. The underwriter uses individual judgment and discretion to operate within authority levels as delegated by the Vice President of Underwriting and CEO of MEC. This is a remote position.

Commercial Lines Account Manager – Remote

We are looking for a competitive and reliable Account Manager to help us with handling a book of business of small to middle market clients and assisting producers in the development of new business. The ideal candidate will possess strong insurance knowledge, organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work directly with both internal and external staff and customers in a fast-paced environment. 5+ years of experience with commercial lines business is required. This is a remote position.

Associate Underwriter – Fairview Park, OH

Start your insurance career as an Associate Underwriter in McGowan Program Administrators’ Umbrella Division! Insurance is a steady, ever-growing industry that needs motivated people, looking to start their professional career. In the Associate Underwriter position, you will learn the basics of underwriting for the commercial umbrella liability line of business. Underwriting is a fitting choice for individuals who enjoy using critical thinking and logic, as you will be analyzing the safety and potential profitability of apartments, condominiums, offices, and shopping centers using applications, claims history, internet research, and department guidelines. Technical Assistant – St. Augustine, FL

The Technical Assistant is responsible for providing data processing support for underwriters and associate underwriters. Duties include providing service in working with underwriting teams to understand renewal programs and create/manage data records within the Agency Management System as appropriate. Primary responsibilities will include processing insurance policies, assisting with underwriting activities, handling customer inquiries, and maintaining accurate records. Assures all related support activities are delivered in a manner consistent with business unit customer service focus. This is a hybrid position in St. Augustine, FL.

Senior Underwriter: Assistant Vice President – Remote

We are seeking an experienced growth-oriented Senior Casualty Underwriter and Assistant Vice President with extensive wholesale and retail broker relationships and knowledge of E&S Casualty risks. The successful candidate will have frequent interactions with SPEAR’s intermediaries’ partners in providing coverage for new and renewal businesses based on the customers’ needs. Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of underwriting experience in the P&C insurance industry are required. This is a remote position.

Renewal Broker – Wexford, PA

The Renewal Broker’s primary responsibility is to manage the renewal process for existing insurance policies. They will work closely with clients, insurance carriers, and underwriters to ensure a smooth renewal process while maximizing retention rates and maintaining client satisfaction. This is a hybrid position located in Wexford, PA.

Professional Lines Broker – Wexford, PA

A Professional Lines Renewal Broker is responsible for producing executive liability, professional services, and cyber liability accounts on a wholesale basis received from the numerous retail brokerages appointed with McGowan across the USA. This position is focused on the renewal of existing policies that make up the Professional and Management Liability book of the Pittsburgh Branch of McGowan Wholesale. Additionally, this position is a production role and not directly responsible for retail broker (client) management, business development, or marketing. There may be internal oversight and training of technical assistants who will help in the production process. Additionally, there will be cross-training so that the candidate can provide back-up assistance for others within the Professional Liability team. This is a hybrid position located in Wexford, PA.

Marketing Broker – Remote

A Commercial P&C Marketing Broker is a member of the brokerage team whose primary role is to solicit, market and bind new commercial P&C business and renewal accounts. They are a member of a brokerage team and operate in the direction of the Broker/senior Broker. They have their own assigned book and operate at the direction of Broker/Senior broker. A Marketing Broker uses independent judgment and discretion for his/her activities and is fully responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to, the following: fostering the growth of MWS carrier and retail relationships and assisting the MWS Director and/or Assigned Broker in complying with Brokerage Procedures and Guidelines. This is a remote position.

Underwriting Manager – Remote

The Underwriting Assistant acts as a liaison between underwriters and brokers, responding to inquiries, collecting information for quoting, and providing revised quotes. They also serve as a backup for underwriters and underwriting assistants during their absence. This is a remote position.
